- 1 loaf French or Italian bread
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 4 oz shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tbsp sour cream, optional
- ½ cup chopped green onion
- ½ stick unsalted butter, softened to the point of being slightly melted
- 8 oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Preheat the broiler.
Slice the loaf of bread horizontally, then place it on a baking sheet lined with foil, crust side down.
Spread the cheese mixture generously over the surface of the bread.
Place the baking sheet under the broiler.
Broil the bread for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
